Manoj belongs to a small village in Warangal district of Telangana where he lives in a shanty with this extended family. Aspiring to be in government service, he had been spending time studying hard to clear the competitive exams after he completed his MBA from Chaitanya Degree College. His large family and the responsibility to run the household could not let him concentrate on his studies completely. However, with the help of Indian Public Library Movement’s programme, he is now able to access facilities at the local library and seek guidance from the staff.
Two years ago, he was introduced to the DEF-IPLM programme that motivated him to join the library where the workshops took place. He become a regular visitor at the library and attended the programme without fail. The programme gradually contributed in achieving his goal of cracking a government competitive exam. He gained information about other competitive examinations which he initially did not have and was regularly updated by the library staff on application dates and content for his desired examinations.
With his hard work and support from the library, he got selected for the post of Multi-Tasking Staff in Postal Department under Governement of India. Expressing his gratitude for the support he received, he thanked the staff. “Library staff and DEF-IPLM Programme initiative is brilliant for aspirants like me as it provides a foundation to build knowledge and information by providing course books related to the exams. Additionally, the due encouragement from the staff is highly appreciable,” he said.
