Since connecting with this program, she has been able to connect with the digital world, instead of using her mobile phone just for making phone calls, she has been able to use it to do many of her bank related tasks, such as sending money and opening a fixed deposit account.

In spite of being from a financially backward family, Meenakshi, 26 from Barmer, Rajasthan, has always had the desire to do something to support her family, despite having never stepped outside of her comfort zone. Although she operates a tailoring shop where she sells clothing, blouses, etc., managing the finances is always a challenge for her. She always has to depend on others, who will look after the financial accounts, primarily because she was unaware of the transition from traditional payments to the digital payments system. The new digital techniques were also challenging for Meenakshi to follow.
Thanks to Pappu Kanwar, a master trainer from Barmer, Meenakshi is now reaping the benefits of Project Revive. Her interest in the program piqued and she wanted to participate, but it wouldn’t be an easy task, she had to convince her family to let her take part. Pappu Kanwar’s activities soon caught her attention and she started attending them. She was taught how to operate the phone, how to use online banking, and how to send money using UPI through the program. Additionally, Meenakshi was introduced to a digital bookkeeping app called MeraBills. After receiving the training, she found it very easy to use. In addition to reminders, financial reports, and the ability to easily feed debits and credits amounts, she no longer requires assistance with her finances.
She says, “Now I’m able to take money from my creditor and keep monthly accounts of my deposits.” In addition to expanding her shop, Meenakshi is preparing to apply for a loan through MeraBills, something that was very difficult earlier because she had no authentic proof of her financial records. Since connecting with this program, she has been able to connect with the digital world, instead of using her mobile phone just for making phone calls, she has been able to use it to do many of her bank related tasks, such as sending money and opening a fixed deposit account.
