The eNGO Programme trained around 30 participants from various weaver groups and non-profit organisations in digital marketing and in eCommerce at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, on July 18, 2016. The objective of the training was to strengthen individual and institution capacitiesto promote and market handloom and handicraft online. Daniel Thomas from Accenture addressed the need of digital inclusiveness to promote craft-based livelihood while Namrata Jaitli from CAF India expressed the desire to promote Indian handicraft in international markets. The workshop was organised in partnership with AIACA, which was represented by Executive Director Madhura Dutta.
The day-long training focused on the importance of being online for weavers and artisans. Participating individuals from different parts of India were acquainted with technical aspects of eCommerce and social media platforms for wider reach and visibility. Topics like digital content, crowd funding and crowdsourcing were also discussed for the benefit of artisans and craftsmen.
