Haseena Bano, a resident of Rampur Bhawanipur, Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, had always struggled to make ends meet. Accessing healthcare seemed impossible, and the thought of borrowing money during a medical crisis was deeply distressing.
Everything changed when a DEF Social Entrepreneur (SoochnaPreneur) from the Smartpur Spoke Centre visited her village. He informed her about the Ayushman Card, a government initiative providing free medical treatment for those in need. Encouraged, Haseena registered using her Aadhaar card and biometric authentication.
A few days later, she received her Ayushman Card and visited a hospital to verify its benefits. To her immense relief, the card covered up to ₹5 lakh in medical expenses. This assurance lifted a huge burden, giving her and her family the security of healthcare without financial distress.
Grateful for the Smartpur Initiative, Haseena now understands the power of community-driven development. She believes that awareness and accessibility are key to building self-sufficient communities. She reflects, “The SoochnaPreneurs are vital for spreading information and ensuring last-mile access to services. Without awareness, we live in darkness. Community initiatives like these empower us to claim our rights.”
