Enabling Communities in Jharkhand in India to diversify in Economic Opportunities
Keeping up with the changes in the country related to digital and mobile Internet growth, Paul Jacobs, CEO of Qualcomm, discussed Soochnapreneur, a project in association with Soochna Seva, in an interview with CNBC TV18. The Global Chairman of the world’s largest phone chip manufacturer says the fact that India has leapfrogged to 4G technology at such low costs will only boost penetration in India. He speaks about how giving people access to information on mobile phones will help improve quality of life and economic standards, and how Soochnapreneur aims to do just that.
The idea of training 100 people to go out in their local communities armed with tablets with 3G connections, to spread information and awareness about government schemes and programmes, empowering them to work hand in hand with the government’s Digital India programme.
